Never underestimate the affect of 'The Look'. A well-honed look of absolute horror is an amazing way to stop a young student dead in their tracks without a single word. Ruth shares some of her classic looks here. A very effective way to manage behaviour in your younger Primary years. VIDEO TRANSCRIPTION:
Hi music colleagues great to see you never underestimate the power of the look. Now many secondary teachers don't need to use this too much but in primary it is absolutely so effective it's gold they stop the child or children dead in their tracks and you should look horrified at their behavior. Oh my gosh i've never had someone behave so badly before in my life that's what it should look and it should also be followed by a pause. When nothing is said so I encourage you to reflect on your behavioral management and some classes you know there's one child or a couple that really may need this so try it out and let us know how you go. I think this is one of the best strategies in your teaching arsenal good luck happy teaching.
