The well known Australian world music dance band includes many dances suitable to Primary and Middle Years education. Folk dancing in the music classroom provides opportunities for kineasthetic appreciation of the Elements of Music. They clearly show structure and form in music and dance and these recordings include many interesting instruments from around the world which the children enjoy listening and responding to.

Includes: O’Carolan’s Draught, Cross Dance, Indo Eu, Seven Jumps,  Shoemaker’s Dance, Lou Pripet, Troika, Polonaise, Cherkassia, Savila Se Bela Loza, Doudlebska Polka, Le Torototelle, Kryzachok Fjaskern, Nigun Atik.

Our recommendations include:
Early Primary:
Cross Dance, Indo Eu, Seven Jumps,  Shoemaker’s Dance, Nigun Atik

Middle Years:
Troika - particularly good for Year 5 & 6 students as the spoke formation is quite challenging, but the lively dance moves are engaging to both boys and girls
Cherkassia - based on the Greek grapevine step
