Song pictures are used as a way of reminding students of the words, rhythm and melody of a known song. For example, students could revise ‘Bluebells’ by placing four Song Pictures of known songs on the board (Bluebells, Lucy Locket, Bounce High and Rain Rain). Ask the children to identify which song the Rhythm Flashcards 2.1 and 2.2 belong to. Students love song pictures; even when you think they’re too old for them!
